What this was
A venue sells a room somebody has to picture before they'll book it. That's the whole job here.
What I photographed
- The rooms in the configurations they actually sell. Not an empty shell, the setups a client is choosing between.
- The entrance and the approach. What a guest sees walking up, which is the frame that answers what kind of evening this is.
- Portraits on site. The venue's own people, photographed against the space itself.
- Detail frames. Light, finish and texture, the things that make a room read as somewhere rather than anywhere.
What it's for
Replies to inquiries, the venue's own site and listings, and the social calendar that a space like this burns through faster than anything else.
Photographs of a venue age quietly. Nobody notices the room looks a decade old until they compare it with somewhere that doesn't.
